Onward and Inward- Sacred Space

Dear Friends,

As Spring continues to take hold and images of rebirth and resurrection surround us this season, I am taking the time to honor all that has lived and renewed itself, as well as all of the letting go that is required for new life to reveal itself.

Like a chrysalis that should not be disturbed while it’s in process of becoming, I have been private behind the scenes in reflection of the revelations and awakenings that have taken place within me over the last two years.

The events of our known world created obstacles and invitations.

We have been invited to make big changes.

The time is now.

Like almost everyone I know, a greater inventory is taking place. What is most important?, What are we willing to stand for?, To fight for?, To let go of? To be flexible with? I let these questions settle deeply within me.

Because of this intimate expression and not wanting to disrupt an organic process that was taking place, I have been reluctant to fully publicize what it means to take next steps in my own teaching and personal evolution.

The Time is Now.

I have traveled myself, my heart , my mind, this world( as of late)- recapturing, remembering and recollecting in order to consciously move forward.

What might not look like a big step to one can be a huge leap for another.

Since 2007, I have had a public studio that I named Sacred Space in honor of what I had wanted to carve out for myself and my intention of holding for others.

On May 1, 2022, I close Sacred Space at our Metta location, and my public studio that has been open for almost 15 years.

So many have come through her doors over the years and have had experiences that forever changed them. We have held trainings, certifications, conscious conceptions of all sorts.  Classes, workshops, feasts and celebrations. Birth and death made their way through her community as well.  Authentic, deep, profound, challenging, joyful, frustrating, awakening.

For me to be a part of the experience has been such a deep honor.

I have continued to teach virtually for over two years, without a single public class in studio. Many of you have not been to a zoom class and so, for some, you have not seen the inside of Metta for that long.

The time away from live classes revealed the perfect opportunity to go within, to learn to access our connection through technology and create new community connections, something I never believed possible but has been quite profound.

I had to grow in flexibility, self-reliance, and in greater trust.

Time was taken to reassess - and what emerged was something that had been waiting for me to step into.

A new Sacred Space.

Emergence.

Meanwhile-Paul and I have been building a place for me to do private work, see individuals one on one and hold small groups. This has been an important step in my own evolution as a spiritual being, teacher and guide.

I needed to recognize that so much of my imagined autonomy was tied to the community and the physical teaching space that I had built over the years. Reminding myself that no four walls can define or confine us.

Sacred Space is within, not outside ourselves.

The temple within And the space we nurtured together stays in my heart and in the hearts and minds of each of us who have gathered there- together, heart to heart, no matter where we are and no matter the distance apart we find ourselves.

I look forward now to what is emerging and coming into view. I look forward to seeing you in a new space in a new time.

The space will not be as large. I will hold small classes and intimate workshops,

and I will continue to film on zoom for those of you too far away to join in.

I have a treatment room with different offerings and will hold events that I will share with you.

In person class will be by reservation and will begin once the space is complete.

In the meantime, there will be a gap between the time I work out of my new space and when I leave Metta.

I will continue to do zoom classes as scheduled, memberships for on-demand classes will be available and my website will stay intact as it is.

I will be filming from a different location until the time I see you ( finally ) in person or on zoom from down under.

That’s right, I’m going underground.

The new space is partially submerged underground which makes it the perfect metaphor for the deep work that many of us have been craving in our time apart.

Sacred Space will keep the fires burning.

I thank all of you for what you have given me and to Paul and I over the years in that beautiful space. There’s deep deep gratitude for all that was manifested, created, and experienced individually and collectively there.

It really is truly beautiful to recall and to receive.

I will keep you posted as details about in-person gatherings solidify.

If you have left anything ( mat?) at sacred space, do not fret, we will keep it on the Metta side for short term re-collection. Most everyone gathered their things at the beginning of 2020, but there are a few people who have certain things left behind.

Love to all,

Many blessings,

and bittersweet beautiful never say goodbyes….

until we meet again under a new roof,

Alli
